Next Chapter.

Today I went to work at Microsoft. For almost every morning of 7 years, I have driven to Microsoft in Redmond. After today I won't drive to Microsoft. I turned in my badge, and the HR department conducted my exit interview.

In the future I may again work at Microsoft. Indeed, I intend to. I have many friends there and have had many good times. My job at "The Empire" was significant. In the words of management, stated in an org-wide email announcing my departure, I was "keeper of the kernel security assets." I've worked on Windows for my entire professional career, and today I stepped away.

Needless to say, this event offers the reward of perspective.
Most things that are worthwhile offer at least that.
If some thing does not offer a new internalization, then odds are it was not worthwhile.

Tomorrow, I board a plane. The flight itinerary concludes aboard a LC-131 Hercules. It will land on ice. It will land in Antarctica.

Pictures will be posted here. Stay tuned for words and images.
